POTTS FAMILY NEWSLETTER
June 2009

Shopping with Trisha for her birthday

Out to dinner with Ron and Shawna before the big race

Dan and Ron hold the sign I made. Dan took 5th place in his age group.

Fun with my friends Darla, Peggy and Peg

Working on the Youtube recording where I explained a bit about MY JOURNEY FROM DARKNESS TO LIGHT and FIRST-AID FOR FEELING

FAMILY
..Tews came over on the 5th to watch the BYU vs. Oklahoma game with Dan. They brought pizza and we all enjoyed an evening together ESPECIALLY when BYU won by 1 point in the last 3 minutes!! Dan was the biggest fan of them all. I got out the cow bell when they made touchdowns!
- Heidi and Ireland joined Cindy’s family for our Sunday dinner on the 6th since Jason was gone with McKinley to Richfield. It was fun to have them We had fun making signs for Trisha’s birthday.
-We were very proud of Mom. She was honored as one of 8 volunteers in the State of Utah. She and Dad attended a luncheon and the Governor himself gave her an award.
DAN
..Sue Merchant came over on Sat. the 5th to help us work on Dan’s genealogy. Father, please help us keep going on it and please help us find names for January when Kalli turns 12.
- Dan was very busy with Scouts. He did flags four times, he was in charge of the 3-legged race for the Ward picnic, we helped clean the church, he headed up the Friends of Scouting drive, he attended a stake meeting and taught a lesson. All in one week. He amazes me with his dedication and willingness to serve and give, teach and mentor.
- Dan and I had a date at the cafeteria of Primary Children’s hospital because I wanted to attend a class at UNIE. He ws so good to be willing to go.

- A Very Busy Saturday: Saturday the 12th was a very busy day. It started with the neighborhood clean up (this is a great service our last Bishop instituted), Dan did friends of scouting, I went to Dwayne Ward’s viewing (the son of my parent’s friends), next Dan and I brushed up on old acquaintences then attended our 57th ward reunion. After that the Tews came to watch BYU football wth Dan then Dan went to the ward picnic while I went to the Trek dinner and reunion (I felt lonely). Then at 8:30 Doug came to watch U of U football with Dan! It was one busy day!
- 15- Dan and I went to the primary election then to grandparent’s day at the Kalli, Michael and Tiarra’s elementary school we had breakfast with them too.

PATRICIA
..I was reminded of three very helpful ideas when I find myself judging someone: 1. the triangle prayer, 2. Ask God to cast Satan far from me and 3. Pray that he/she will have the experiences he/she needs right now.
- Yipee! I transferred a song today!
It felt so good to get my household things done early this week!
- I started physical therapy for my jaw problems. Very helpful!
- - I had a free session with Annette Pieper to assess ideas that might help in meeting my business goals. The best thing that came from it was that I really am committed to maintaining a balance in my personal life!
- I bought a camcorder to record family and speaking events. Fun!
- I made yummy whole wheat and honey banana bread!
- Peg invited Darla and I to her house. Peggy taught us more about how to do EFT. Yummy meal, very fun and informative.
- I created 2 new youtubes. They were about my two books. Within 12 hours there had been 11 views. I hope they are blessing others.
- On the 4th I did a presentation called NEW LEASE ON LIFE for paramount care center. I enjoyed it and especially enjoyed Launi (a friend from high school) coming to join me. Afterward we visited Trisha (it was just down the street.) Then came to my house to share lunch and a bit more of our lives experiences. Launi gave me some good sales advice as well. Thanks so much Father.
- I’ve enjoyed touching bases with my cousin Valerie.
- My dear friend, Karen Johnson, stopped me on the way home from church just to tell me that she loves me and thinks I am thoughtful and special. It meant so very much to me. It is amazing how just a few words of praise go a long, long ways. Thanks Karen.
- I am using EFT and NLP. They are actually helping with my pain! Thank you Heavenly Father.
-
- -A SPIRITUAL DRILL!
- On the 8th I was once again reminded of the principle of drilling! First, I woke up in the morning and felt impressed that I should visit a neighbor who was in the hospital. When I arrived I learned she was no longer there. Later that day I felt impressed to attend a class clear up by the U. When I got there to meet Dan for dinner before the class I realized that I was there on the WRONG DAY!! I began to second guess my ability to hear the spirit. Why would I feel impressed to do something then have it not turn out? It was then I remembered a lesson long ago when I realized that sometimes we just need to practice listening to the spirit and following it so we will be ready when the actual need arises. Just the drill is enough.
- I had a dream about St. George so we are planning to go Oct. 1-4th!! Thanks Fatehr.
- Meeting with Margaret about doing some speaking for Jr. Highs and High schools. It was fun , informative and very hopeful.
- Teaching guitar. Can you believe it? I have 17 students now!!!
- Watching the kids for Cindy.
- Kerri, Angie and I got together on the 11th to prepare for our presentation at the State mental hospital. After we had lunch here then did a dry run on the presentation we enjoyed hot tubing! It was fun. Thanks Father.
- U of U – BOOKS
- FOR SALE
- On the 15th I went to the U of U to see the book fair display where my books are sold as part of a traveling display. It was hard to find but nice when I got there. After that Dan and I went to lunch at his work then went for a walk. I also got tickets for him for 2 upcoming events. The star wars event and transiberian orchestra. After that I watched the kids for Cindy and finished reading OUT OF THE DUST. A book for our ward reading club.
- Lots of work and fear preparing for the Ladies Literary Club presentation.
